The Chrysler Building
One of the highest buldings of New York, amounting to 318 meters, the nicely-designed top is unique worldwide. Entrance on weekends is contained. This historic building can be found on a level with 42nd street and Lexington Avenue.
Ground Zero (World Trade Center )
Formerly the foundation of the Twin Towers, now memorial of the victims of September 11th. Commemorative plaques at the fence remind of the innocent people that had to die in the attacks. This very day relatives come here to leave flowers and prayers. Now also construction site for one of the most impressive building of the world.
The Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is without doubt the most famous sight of New York and among the five most famous worldwide. Recognizing liberty and independence in 1886 it was a French gift, symbolizing hope and freedom. The Statue has a torch in its right hand and the Declaration of independence in its left hand. The statue has a height of 102 meters and weighs more than 250 tons. Twenty-two levels have to be mastered afoot, the elevator end at the tenth level.
The Empire State Building
Everybody has heard of the Empire State Building, the most famous building of New York. Measuring 443 meters is also belongs to the highest building worldwide, extending over 102 levels and equipped with 70 elevators. The construction was finished in 1931, consists of many steel structures placed on top of each other and has been the highest building for 40 years. The platform can be found on the 102nd level, 373 meters above the city. Another terrace is on the 86th level (320 meters). It takes 1800 stairs to get to the 102nd level.
