Barcelona
Atmospheric Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter) is located to the west of La Rambla, heads towards Placa de Catalunya end resembles the lovely heart of the Old Town. The Placa divides Old Town and Eixample, a street network built in the 19th century that exposes modernistic architectural art today, including works as renowned Sagrada Familia of Gaudi. Gaudi was an eccentric and innovative immigrant who challenged the grounds of traditional-architectural mindsets portraying shape and details of Mother Nature in perfection.
Thus Barcelona is a great mixture of modernity and historical architecture. International chains, designer boutiques and modern shopping malls can be found in the area around Placa de Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia and along Diagonal. Passeig de Gracia hosts exclusive boutiques while Placa Catalunya has several shops that offer less expensive and modern clothes. The nightlife is spread across most parts of the city via the city centre, reaching from the beach and the Port Olympic to Eixample and Old Town and includes outstanding clubs, bars and restaurants.
