Amsterdam
Falling in love with Amsterdam’s charm and beauty is easy, especially if you discover the Dutch capital’s beauty on a canal boat trip. But you can also have a good time in Amsterdam if the weather is less nice. Amsterdam has a really nice mixture of cosmopolitan city and a placid, walkable place and it should be general knowledge that the bicycle is the best means of transportation to get from A to B in the inner-city.
The compact inner-city offers excellent shopping, cultural and amusement facilities, always close to the water or a park providing relaxation opportunities. Also generally known worldwide is that Amsterdam is a rather liberal city with respect to sexual pleasures and narcotics, accommodating numerous sex shops, brothels and coffee shops all across the city.
As mentioned you should try to rent a bicycle to discover the city; if you are afoot you should stick to the “Grachten”, the small canals, since almost no street is straight and you can lose yourself so easily, even though the inner-city is rather small. For best orientation visitors should take a canal tour through the city, it is an easy and inexpensive way to get to know the city’s merits.
